Masterplan Light Bad Neustadt / Saale

New light creates identity.

The city of Bad Neustadt / Saale realizes high quality projects with focus on urban development. In this context, we first analyzed the need for light in the nocturnal space. The subsequently developed lighting master plan combines sustainable solutions with efficient and intelligent lighting designs to enhance the urban environment.

As a design guideline, the master plan furthermore supports the continuous implementation of individual projects over the next years.
In addition to the lighting concept for the historical city centre – the entrances to the old town are another focus of the lighting master plan. For instance the “bridge to the old town” leads visitors the way to the city center after arriving by train.

The newly built city hall also represents a cultural “entrance” to the city centre. It is located at the southern entrance to the old town nearby the historic “Hohntor”. The reduced, functional architecture of the hall offers space for communication and encounters. The lighting design for the facade and the plaza in front supports this basic idea and at the same time pursues the concept of different mounting heights.
